Week 5: If you believe not Moses you CAN-NOT believe Jesus: Who do you think Moses talked about?

A lot of people try and separate the Old and New Testaments as if there is a different God that

dealt with Moses than the God that dealt with the Apostle Paul.
Newsflash:
The entire book was written about Jesus Christ from Genesis chapter 1 to Revelation chapter 22
Let us begin the synchronization of the testaments with the statement that gave me the title of this weeks Bible Boot Camp lesson...
Jesus was explaining to the Pharisees about the witness of men, not being greater than the witness of God. He told them that the Father is His witness, however, since they (the Pharisees) respected the witness of men, Jesus told them about the greatest witness among men, whom even they respected. The statement speaks volumes, even to us at this day:

"I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?" John‬ ‭5‬:‭43-47‬

Also the parable of The rich man and Lazarus reveals something to us about the importance of Moses in relation to Jesus Christ.

"There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead." Luke‬ ‭16‬:‭19-31

The point you want to recognize in the parable is 1. To prevent the brothers from going to the place of torment, all that was needed was Moses and the prophets! {v. 29}
Even after the rich mans persistency, believing that all someone would need is one born from the dead to testify to them (like most of us would assume). 2. Abraham informs him (and us) that if you don't/won't hear MOSES, you won't hear someone who returns from the dead. And Abraham is correct, although One returned from the dead (Jesus), you CAN-NOT hear his words, if you WILL-NOT hear Moses words.

Food4Thought:
When Jesus called the Apostle Phillip, He simply told him 'follow me.' However, when Phillip wanted to explain who Jesus was to Nathanael he didn't say, "my personal saviour has arrived," nor did he limit who Jesus was to any one of the details of His reason for coming in the flesh—

"The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me. Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph." John‬ ‭1‬:‭43-45‬

If you have read Moses and the prophets, you know who Jesus is, whether or not he was the Messiah etc.. through the details of his actions.

After Jesus resurrection on one of the last occasions he spoke with the disciples he explained again to them who he was, and from where? Moses (and the prophets)!

"Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?  And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself." Luke‬ ‭24‬:‭25-27

Through this act Jesus is relating ti us, that Moses and the prophets is how you know about Jesus 1st Coming, as well as His 2nd Coming

May the Lord add a blessing, to the study of His Word.

Bible Boot Camp Week 4: Where Does GOD Want To Live

There is always a great and vigorous debate about If and/or When Christians will go to heaven. I, myself have participated in and even encouraged the debate.
While thinking about the topic for week 4, I decided to take the conversation away from us as people, and let the Bible speak on where God and/or Jesus Wants To Live!
It is my hope that thru this blogpost, the debate can begin to be diminished, because as Christians our desire should be to be/live where ever Jesus (Christ) is.

This Earth was not created in Vain, the Lord created to be inhabited Isaiah 45:18.
This is why man was created from the earth: "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." Genesis 2:7
the earth is 70% water
You must wash often because you are made of dirt.
Your body is over 70% water just like the earth.
Everything you eat comes from the earth whether meat or plants.
You can be sure, because anything left on top or inside of the ground  (earth) will eventually turn again into dust.

And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.
According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it...  And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee.  And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel. Exodus 25:21-22

God is God. God dwells in heaven, why does He need a sanctuary? Answer: so that He could dwell among them!

In verse 21-22 the mercy seat is where God sits. But God had a throne in heaven. Why a mercy seat on earth? To meet with Moses and commune with him.

In the book of Numbers Israel was commanded to set up the tabernacle of the congregation. Why?
"And it came to pass on the day that Moses had fully set up the tabernacle, and had anointed it, and sanctified it, and all the instruments thereof, both the altar and all the vessels thereof, and had anointed them, and sanctified them...  And when Moses was gone into the tabernacle of the congregation to speak with him, then he heard the voice of one speaking unto him from off the mercy seat that was upon the ark of testimony, from between the two cherubims: and he spake unto him." Numbers 7:1,5,89
Moses heard God speak with him from off the mercy seat.

Even when the children of Israel were in the wilderness they were instructed when they had to do defecate, to cover it up. Why? So that God would not have to look at it, the unclean thing, as he walked through the camp.

"Thou shalt have a place also without the camp, whither thou shalt go forth abroad:  And thou shalt have a paddle upon thy weapon; and it shall be, when thou wilt ease thyself abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which cometh from thee:   For the Lord thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee." Deuteronomy 23:12-14

In another place it is written, the Lord will take the whole EARTH as HIS POSSESSION!
"Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession." Psalms 2:1-12
Zion = Jerusalem; Jerusalem is his Holy Hill.
Jerusalem = Zion; the Western Ridge = Mt. Zion

Not only will God (Jesus) dwell in Jerusalem, the children of Judah will also be there with Him FOREVER:

"For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land... Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision. The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. The Lord also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the Lord will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel. So shall ye know that I am the Lord your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more...  But Judah shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation. For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the Lord dwelleth in Zion." ‭Joel‬ ‭3‬:‭1-2, 14-17, 20-21

In the book of Revelation after Jesus takes down the nations he inherits (or takes) the kingdoms of this earth, and he will rule the EARTH, FOREVER!

"And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever." Revelation 11:15

David first captured Zion, being that David was a man after God's own heart, that may have something to do with why God wants to live there. Or maybe even the other way around, David was a man after God's own heart because he wanted to live where God wants to live...

"David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years. In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah. And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither. Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David...  So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward."2 Samuel‬ ‭5‬:‭1-7, 9‬

Finally, the most straight forward scripture about where God 'wants' to live, He actually swore it to David:

"The Lord hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne. If thy children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore. For the Lord hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation. This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it. I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread. I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy. There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed. His enemies will I clothe with shame: but upon himself shall his crown flourish." ‭Psalms‬ ‭132‬:‭11-18‬

The conclusion of the matter is regardless of where you 'believe' that you will go (grave, heaven, hell) after your time on this planet, the fact is that the God of the Holy Bible chose to live HERE (past tense because He chose it since the beginning) with His creation. The Earth is where God will dwell. Even in the Lord's prayer we recite 'thy kingdom come' because Jesus knew that in Revelation 22 the kingdom of God comes down from the Father out of heaven.
So let's discontinue the debate about where we want to spend eternity, let it suffice us to spend eternity with our creator On The Earth.

May the Lord add a blessing to the reading and studying of His word in Jesus name.

Bible Boot Camp, Week 3: The 2nd Advent of Christ

You have made it to week 3 of Bible Boot Camp, and if you are reading this, it is clear that you desire to hear the Word of the True and Living God!
This week we shall ponder a topic that Everyone that I know has unwittingly said something that they didn't really mean. Most are ignorant of the request (wish) that they are making, when they make it.

Have you or someone you know ever been having a rough time in their life and said, "I will sure be glad when Jesus returns!" Or maybe something more similar to, 'I can't wait until Jesus comes back.' Maybe even during a church service when you were reading ( or hearing) about the goodness of God and confessed either in song or sermon that you wished Jesus Christ would return sooner rather than later.

I am here to reveal to all that are able to read this scribe that, YOU ARE NOT READY PHYSICALLY, MENTALLY, PSYCHOLOGICALLY, OR SPIRITUALLY for the 2nd Advent of Christ!

To make my point we should begin with the 6th seal in the book of Revelation. Everyone whom has ever read the book of Revelation knows that there are all kinds of scary things contained therein. I will tell you now and prove to you later that those things mentioned in the book of Revelation were most usually spoken of somewhere else in the Bible (usually the Old Testament).

13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? Revelation 6:13-17
Pay attention to the things that happen before you see the lamb, these are tell-tale signs to let us know what time period we are talking about.  We see things happening in the atmosphere, but take a moment to consider what marvelous thing must happen for "Chief Captains" and "Mighty Men" to call for rocks and mountains to "Fall on them" in order to 'hide' them from the face of God.
Verse 15 also lets us know that after this thing happens we will be able to look up into the 3rd heaven and see the face of Him that sits on the throne. Verse 17 warns us, WHO SHALL BE ABLE TO STAND?
The prophet Zephaniah also spoke of the 'day of the Lord.'
14 The great day of the Lord is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the Lord: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.
15 That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,
16 A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.
17 And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the Lord: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung. Zephaniah 1:14-18
But some sisters and brothers desire the day of the Lord.
How?
Why?
The Prophet Amos issued a warning to those of us whom speak in ignorance like we desire the day of the Lord. In Chapter 5 it is written:
18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the Lord! to what end is it for you? the day of the Lord is darkness, and not light.
19 As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.
20 Shall not the day of the Lord be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?

Imagine being chased by a lion, somehow getting away from the lion; only to be met by a bear! You run into a house to avoid the bear, and while leaning on the wall a snake bites you...
All the prophet is saying is that if you are around when the Day of the Lord happens, there is no escaping His wrath.
Howl ye; for the day of the Lord is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.
Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt... Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. [there are those signs to let us know 'when' again]
11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
12 I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.
13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger... Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.
17 Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.
18 Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eyes shall not spare children.
Isaiah chapter 13:1-18
 {Leave a question in the comments if you are curious who those people that are the Lord's 'sanctified ones'; or who the Medes are}
If you follow this blog you are aware that the rapture is a fallacy. This is proven in Matthew 24, because by the time Jesus makes his decent, it is immediately after the tribulation.
"For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.  And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened...  Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the

sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.  And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other...  Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left."   Matthew 24:21-41

God will not steal you off the earth, so that you can avoid the great tribulation. When Jesus returns it will be AFTER the Great Tribulation, Armageddon, and the taking down of ALL the kings of the earth!
So from now on, consider the people that you love, and your everyday life before you wish for the Lord to return speedily. Because before He can return, life as you know it must be turned upside-down.

If you would like to know the options that Christians whom wish to avoid the Great Tribulation have, leave your question in the comments box and I (thru the scriptures) will reveal it to you.
May the Lord add a blessing to the reading and studying of His word in Jesus name.

Bible Boot Camp Week 2: On these two Commandments hang ALL the law and prophets.

Last week we dealt with Fear.
This week i would like to focus in on a few things the Messiah (Jesus) said out of His own mouth, while he walked the earth.

A question was posed to Jesus in Matthew chapter 22. Which is the great commandment "in the law"? His response was, "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment." (Matthew 22:35-38 KJV)
Before we go any further, notice that Jesus DID NOT say "I'm going to nail the law to the cross, so don't worry about the commandments." Or, "Once i am resurrected, you won't even have to worry about any laws." Neither did Jesus mention that the laws were only for the Jews, and the Christian church will have to do something different to get salvation.
Now, for all those that didn't know, Jesus did not make this answer up on the spot. There was nothing, "new," in His response. Any person familiar with the scriptures (back then, or now) knows that Jesus is quoting the law!

"And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." (Deuteronomy 6:5 KJV)
And again it was written: "And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the Lord your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul..." (Deuteronomy 11:13 KJV)
Normally, educated people would call this plagiarism, however, since one of Jesus's titles is 'The Word' and since he dictated what was to be written to every author, we can see, that He jus came in the flesh repeating exactly what He had been saying to the children of Israel since Moses led them thru the wilderness.
We should all be surprised that Jesus wasn't annoyed at the question! (Maybe that is why the Bible points out that the question was to tempt Him.)
Before we finish the conversation, the question begs to be asked, how do you love God?? Any woman will tell you, just because you say you love someone, doesn't mean anything, if your words aren't backed up with actions!

Jesus went on to say, "And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." (Matthew 22:38-40 KJV)

We are so fortunate, that the Bible is able to interpret itself, so let us investigate this...
Let us turn to the 10 commandments and see if we can gain some understanding, "And God spake all these words, saying, I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee." (Exodus 20:1-12 KJV)
This is how you Love the Lord thy God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.

If you love God, then you will:
1. Have no other gods before him;
2. You won't make any 'graven' images that represent Him. (This means pictures, paintings, sculptures and say it's Him), (no crosses, star of David, rosary beads, stars & moons etc. and try and say it represents Him. All of these things are made with engraving instruments!
3. You won't take his name in vain;
4. You will remember HIS Sabbath Day (the seventh day of the week) to keep it HOLY!
5. You will 'honor' your father and mother, because they are your representatives of the Father and Jesus on this earth (to put the fear of God in you). [maybe this is why so many kids die early, no honor for father and mother.]

This easy explanation of how to love God, is the Apostle Paul refereed to as the simplicity in Christ. (2 Corinthians 11:3)
Easy to understand.
As for the 2nd part of the conversation, to Love thy neighbor as thyself... Men and women always debate the definition of Love, how can we possibly interpret Love to every other human being on the planet.
The Law and the prophets teach us the details of Jesus statement (like He alluded to).
"Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's." (Exodus 20:13-17 KJV)

If you truly love your neighbor, you will:
1. Not kill him/her.
2. Not commit adultery with him/her's husband/wife.
3. Not steal from her/him.
4. Not bear false witness (lie on) her/him.
5. Not covet anything that is anyone else's.

Disagree?
Feel free to leave a comment with your 'Biblical Definition' of Love for God and/or your neighbor.

May theLord add a blessing to the reading and studying of His word in Jesus name.
