The Lord's Day:Sunday, Saturday or some other day?

The question we want to explore in our third installment, more like part 2 to Saturday or Sunday. Let's take a brief moment and explore these questions.

According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, Sunday worship came from an understanding of several scriptures.
The practice of meeting together on the first day of the week for the celebration of the Eucharist Sacrific is indicated in Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 16:2; in Apocalypse 1:10, it is called the Lord's Day. In the Didache (14) the injuction is fiven: "On the Lord's day come together and break bread. And give thanks (offer the Eucharist), after confessing your sins that your sacrifice may be pure". St. Ignatius (Ep. ad Magnes. ix) speaks of Christians as "no longer observing the Sabbath, but living in the observance of the Lord's Day, on which our Life rose again.: "

Slater, T. (1912). Sunday. In The Catholic Encyclopedia. New York: Robert Appleton Company. Retrieved July 14, 2015 from New Advent:http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/14335a.htm

Most usually if someone is attempting to convince you of the authenticity of Sunday worship these scriptures are included in their defense.

Firstly, understand that the Bible is about to tell us that this understanding, is from Rome, not Jerusalem, it is therefore, Roman in nature and not necessarily Christ-like. If your denomination subscribes to this set of scriptures to mean that "The Lord's Day," is every Sunday that is where they got that understanding from, Rome!

Now let us explore!

In the book of Zephaniah we find the prophet expounding on the, 'Day of the Lord.'
We will find out very quickly, that the Lord's Day is Not Sunday! Neither is it the Sabbath day. Nor is it any 24-hour cycle...

"The great day of the Lord is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the Lord : the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers. And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the Lord : and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung." Zephaniah‬ ‭1‬:‭14-18

Very different from what is commonly taught, the Lord's Day. Notice who will bring the distress in verse 17.
'I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the Lord...'
If you have ever been told that God doesn't do or bring 'evil,' click here to read some examples.

The prophet Isaiah also saw this day, and wrote:
"The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see... They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the Lord, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land. Howl ye; for the day of the Lord is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty. Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt... Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it." Isaiah‬ ‭13‬:‭1, 5-7, 9‬

What you just read about was the destruction of Babylon (also known as the European Union EU) at the hand of God through men, namely those of the East, Russia also known as Medeia (the Medes), Gog or Magog and its allies.  This is part of what will take place during the, 'Day of the Lord!'

Now i know you're waiting to go to the New Testament, and before we do, the link to the New Testament lies in the Old Testament:
"For the satras of heaven and the consetllations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be
darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible... Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord or hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger." Isaiah 13:10-13

You should really take time this week to read the entire 13th chapter of Isaiah; it gets deep.
However, for now remember these unmissable/unmistakable events in verses 10 and 13

Finally: one of the scriptures used to explain the Lord's Day as Sunday was, Revelation 1:10

"The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw." Revelation‬ ‭1‬:‭1-2‬

The purpose of the Book of Revelation was for Jesus Christ to reveal things which must shortly come to pass to His servants.

Now to the verse in question:
"I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet," Revelation‬ ‭1‬:‭9-10‬

Notice how it didn't say that John was in exile, or that he was in prison on Patmos. John was on the Island of Patmos to receive the word of God and to record what he saw in a book v. 11. Verse 10 is simply saying that physically John was on the isle of Patmos, but spiritually (his mind was projected) he was present on the Lord's Day or The Day of the Lord! Likely he was there because of the close proximity to the seven churches he would be writhing to.

Firstly, let us reason together saith the Lord, so I ask the question what significance does the day of the week have in the prophecy of the End Times? Anyone who has read the book of Revelation know that the events of only 1 chapter cannot happen in a 24-hour cycle.

Next let's look at something that John saw:
"And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places." Revelation 6:12-14

Did you catch the links! John was seeing the same time period that Isaiah saw,. The Day of the Lord's wrath! Isaiah said the Sun shall be darkened, John said it became black. This is an unmissable/unmistakable event, it can only happen once right?

Now that that fallacy has been debunked, the other two verses used to justify Sunday worship do not even mention the phrase, the Lord's Day.

"Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come." 1Corinthians 16:2
This verse alone says nothing. Alone this verse proves nothing. Beginning at verse 1 Paul is talking about taking up a collection on the first day of the week. Has nothing to do with what day to meet for worship. In comparison read the Old Testament and see if you can find Israel ever taking up a collection on the day of worship? If you think about it, to take up a collection on the day 'designated for worship,' seems a little backwards. I thank the God of Israel that my church does not participate in the practice of taking up collections for anything. There is simply a tithe box for you to drop tithes and offerings in on your way in or on your way out of the building.

Lastly in Acts 20 Paul breaks bread with the disciples on the first day of the week and preached to them. I will not quote it here because I believe it holds that little relevance. But I will comment and say that every day that the disciples ate together, you can bet your last money, that they broke bread together.
The fact that Paul preached to the disciples on the first day of the week means nothing except that Paul was a preacher. The post that you are currently reading was began on a Monday (the 2nd day of the week), I worked on this well beyond midnight and into Wednesday (the 3rd day of the week). My Church has a TV show where the ministers preach on Tuesday and Thursday nights depending on where you live. During Bible study Q and A on Wednesday nights the teachers 'preach!' So again means nothing, proves nothing! That is so over-obvious that I feel like I am talking down to you my readers by typing this paragraph (I'm sorry :'-[  ).

May the Lord add a blessing to the reading and studying of His word in Jesus name.

Sunday or Saturday?

Greetings in the name of Jesus. Thank you for clicking, for another session of #OnlineBibleBootCamp. This week we want to deal with the day of worship, Saturday or Sunday. Now before we begin let me assure you, that this will not be like most debates of this sort; therefore, for Part I we want to focus in on some very basic questions that are often overlooked:

  1. What day was Jesus raised from the dead?
  2. What is the spiritual significance of the Sabbath Day?
  3. Does Sunday have ANY significance at all whatsoever? If so what?
  4. If Sunday is not the Lord's Day, when is it?
For readers that may be unfamiliar, the 'Lord's Day,' is commonly thought of by most 'Christians,' as Sunday. Most will cite the reason Sunday is called the Lord's Day, is because Sunday is the day that Jesus was raised from the dead. They may even seem like the same question, but we will find as the Bible speaks that these two days are very different, and very far apart.

Let's Begin:

First things first, let us find some grounding in the Word. Some reassurance that these simple topics are covered in the Bible.

"Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." Amos 3:7

This is not talking about the secrets of the internet, it says he reveals HIS secret to the prophets. So what the Bible is telling us here, is any mystery or secret (even if it is only a mystery to you) about God that you would like to know about, the prophets wrote about it. Notice it did not say/include priests. Nor did it include Apostles! Secrets are revealed to the prophets!
Everything Jesus said and did was written about in the books of the prophets. The book of Luke is over 75% plagiarism of the Old Testament. As it should be because new testament was to "testify," that what Moses and the prophets wrote was the truth!

So just remember for the rest of your life, anything you read written by an Apostle, if you can't find a prophet that wrote about it also, you are most likely misunderstanding what the Apostle is saying.

Next when we talk days and times, we have to understand that our Creator's days and times do not always neatly fit with our days and times. Besides if you do a little research, you'll find 99.9% of our days and times were established by pagans.

So what about God's times? Let's go to the beginning:

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.  And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.  And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day."

So the first day was characterized by the evening and the morning. Notice ho the evening occurs before the morning in God's day..

"And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day." v.8

"And the evening and the morning were the third day." v. 13
"And the evening and the morning were the fourth day." v.19
"And the evening and the morning were the fifth day." v. 23
"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." v. 26-27
"And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day." v. 31 Genesis 2:1-31

So, the same demonstration through out the creation. Notice that if you continue to read through chapter 3, there is no explanation of an evening and the morning were the sixth day. This will be discussed further in subsequent chapters.

Now we understand that in the Bible, the day begins in the evening and the latter part of the day is while the sun is visible in the sky.

So, straight to the point then, let's look at the Gospels , one-by-one and see what they say concerning the resurrection of Jesus, The Messiah.

"In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto
the woman, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was
crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see
the place where the Lord lay." Matthew 28:1-6

Our first witness, Matthew has written that by the time it began to dawn towards the first day of the week, (what we call Sunday), the angel had to come down to tell them that Jesus wasn't there. For the record there are 2 definitions to the word 'Dawn.'
1: noun - the first appearance of light in the sky before sunrise.
2: verb - to come into existence.

Whichever definition you choose, as it began to happen (not after it happened), at the beginning He wasn't there!

"And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices that they might come and anoint him. And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.

And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?

And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.

And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.

And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him." Mark 16:1-6

Again, according to the Gospel of Mark, the disciples arrived "at the rising of the sun," it didn't say

Jesus was just waking up, or just leaving, or even just left. He wasn't even there!

Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.

And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.  And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:  And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee." Luke 24:1-6

Same story, and finally,

"The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre. Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him."

John 20:1-2

Now that the Bible has established that Jesus  was all the way out of the grave by the time the First day of the week began. Now let us turn to the holy prophets to explain the secrets of when the messiah died and was resurrected.

In Daniel Chapter 9, the prophet understood that the Lord would make Jerusalem desolate, but afterwards He would deliver the children of Israel out of their oppression AND He would usher in the Kingdom of God. Contrary to popular belief Daniel knew this! If you read any prophecy about the children of Israel being returned to the land of Israel, 99% of the prophecies also include the destruction of the world.

Let us therefore pick up Daniel at the end of his prayer (you should read the entire chapter of Daniel 9 on your own).

"Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most HolyKnow therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.  And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate." Daniel 9:24-27
Focusing on the part of the prophecy that deals with Jesus (highlighted in orange). We know this is speaking of Jesus because of all his characteristics in verse 24.  [ reconciliation - Colossians 1:21 Romans 5:10; everlasting righteousness Matthew 25:40-46; seal up prophecy/anoint the Most Holy-
Matthew 3:13-17 ]

In verse 27, it says that he (Messiah) will confirm the covenant with many for one week...
Before we go any further we must understand that we are talking prophecy here, so we must needs, have the Bible (the Word) explain itself.

I will not detail them here, but for #OnlineBibleBootCamp homework everyone should visit the following set of scriptures to see why a week in prophecy means 7 years.
{Jacob worked 7 years to marry a woman, he was deceived, and in order to marry the woman he wanted he had to 'fulfill her week,' at which time he worked an additional 7 years.Genesis 29:1-28

So, Jesus came in the flesh, to to confirm the new covenant. And in the middle of His week, He was cut-off. If a week is 7 years, and Messiah was cut-off in the midst, simple math will tell us how long the Messiah's ministry will be before He is killed. 7 divided by 2 equals 3 1/2 ( 7 / 2 = 3.5 ). And we know through history that Jesus lived 33.5 years.
However, His ministy did not begin until his Baptism, in order to give us a message, of the importance of Baptism.

"Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli," Luke 3:21-23
It was at this point He 'became,' the Christ.

Lastly, the prophecy informs us that Jesus died in the middle (midst) of a literal week.

The only 'sign,' that Jesus gave us that He was the Christ was recorded as:  " Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.  But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:  For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." Matthew 12:38-40 & Matthew 16:4

If you still believe (or have been told/taught) that Jesus died Good Friday, and was resurrected early Easter-Sunday morning, ask yourself or your teacher: What about the 3rd night?

Now, if we believe the prophets, Jesus went into the Grave on Wednesday...
This is not rocket-science, this is kindergarten counting to 3.

Below is an aid to help you count. Remember, when God created Life, and the Earth the evening came first, then the morning.

This should give us Jesus in the grave Wednesday night, Thursday night, and Friday night; Also covering Thursday morning, Friday morning, and Saturday morning. Thru simple reasoning we see that in order for Jesus himself to Not be a liar, he HAD to have resurrected at SUN-DOWN on Saturday night!
No wonder by the time the Apostles got to the tomb early the next morning Jesus was all the way gone and angles were sitting there to tell what happened.

In our next installment we will explore the spiritual significance of both the Sabbath Day as well as Sunday concerning the Bible (the Word). However, some people (if you are like me) will be shocked at this information about Jesus and Sunday. Therefore, I will end with this scripture that most of us have heard in one context but if applied here, may make it more understandable.

"And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:  Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath." Mark 2:27-28

The Word: Where did It originate, Man or God?

Welcome to Online Bible Boot Camp 2015!

It is only  proper that The Word (The Bible) should be the subject of the 1st week of #OnlineBibleBootCamp. In our search for the origins of the Word (The Bible), my promise to you, is that instead of preaching my thoughts, I will allow the Bible (The Word) to speak for itself!

The Word (The Bible), is pretty controversial, in this weeks lesson we want to explore the following topic that stem from some popular questions:

Where does the Word (the Bible) come from?
Why is reading/studying the Bible so importnat?
(Since I only recommend KJV) Where was King James and what role does he play when the Word (The Bible) was originally published?
How much of the Bible was altered by man?

The Bible is Soo amazing that it does Not need an interpreter. God's words are so powerful that they can 'speak' for themselves.  All we need do is listen. Therefore let us begin with allowing the Bible to tell us where the Word (The Bible) comes from.

Psalms 119:89
"For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven."

The word 'settled,' means: to conclusively resolve, or agree upon something.
We see right from the beginning that if we simply read, the Bible (The Word) will interpret itself. The next time someone asks you where did this "Word," come from, you can bare witness that David wrote that the Word (the Bible) was settled in HEAVEN

Okay, now that we have that straight, Can the the Bible (The Word) be changed ?
"I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3‬:‭14
Even with all of the different Bible versions in circulations and 10,000 denominations in the United States alone, rest assured that if they change too many verses in too many places Everyone will know its been changed. Changing a verse here or there cannot prohibit the Gospel. God had 1 message written too many times, in too many places, too many ways, by too many different people.
This is very plain and simple reading so far. 'Whatsoever,' God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it!

On your own go and read how Paul instructed us to believe facts at the mouth of two or more witnesses in 2 Corinthians 13:1...

Therefore, let us turn to another prophet for confirmation. "The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.  Isaiah 40:8

The Apostle Peter must have studied the prophet Isaiah during his 'BibleBootCamp' (laugh out loud) because he quoted in his 1st epistle,  "But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. 1Peter 1:25

Less than 10 minutes we have learned that the Word (The Bible) was agreed upon in heaven, it will last forever, and it CANNOT be changed by man!

Since the Word (The Bible) was 'settled,' in heaven and we know that King James has NEVER been to heaven (St. John 3:13), therefore the question has to be asked, how did this Word (Bible) get to man on the earth?

"And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon." Revelation 5:1-4

So now John see's a vision of the Father on His throne with a sealed book. [This same book which was settled in heaven], it is now time for someone to"Read," the book!
Notice how no one was worthy to look upon the book, let alone open it. When it says , "no one," what about King James? What about Shakesspeare? If you read history you will find that in ancient times people knew that they did not fully understand everything written. Mainly because the Bible says that some things won't be revealed until the end times. So their most important function was an accurate translation!

When John realized that No one (not even King James I of England and William Shakespeare) could not even look upon the book he began to weep. And as he wept:

"And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne. And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;"
Revelation‬ ‭5‬:‭1-11‬

So, Jesus Christ (the Lamb) is worthy to look on the book and read it. (this is probably why Jesus is called, "The Word of God," in the 19th chapter of Revelation.

The reason that the book cannot be looked upon, is not because everyone's eyes stopped working, no one is worthy to read the book Not  because the earth is illiterate.  If i can recollect correctly, I was taught in the C.M.E. church that only the book of Revelation was sealed.. The prophet Isaiah also knew that the Entire book was sealed to some people.

"Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink. For the Lord hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered. And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed: And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned. Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their
prudent men shall be hid. Isaiah‬ ‭29‬:‭9-14‬

Notice again who it was that closed the eyes of the people so that no man could read the book. Then
notice why He did it...

The Lord sealed the book so that No One could read or even look on the book because of one simple fact: DISOBEDIENCE!

With the lips the majority of the Earth will call on the name of the Lord, Jesus but refuse to do 95% of what He commands!

*For an example of a precept of men that many of us have been taught (and the truth behind it) click here.

Therefore the majority of the world holds this book (The Bible) but the understanding thereof is sealed to them. Again, why because of  DISOBEDIENCE!

So, only Jesus Christ, worthy to loose the seals of the book and read it. What did Jesus do with the book after He recieved it at the Fathere's hand?

"The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John.
Revelation  1:1

So basically the Bible (The Word) has taught us that the Word was settled in heaven, the Father gave it to Jesus, who sent it to man (John in this particular case) by way of an angel.

Alright fine, so the Word (The Bible) is  important, but why is it soooo important?? Let us allow Jesus (The Word) to piece together what we have been reading in one cohesive succint statement:

"Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. And he
that seeth me seeth him that sent me. I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness." (or: the book will not be sealed to you if you believe)
"And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world,
but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what Ishould speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak."
John‬ ‭12‬:‭44-50

The Bible (The Word) reinforces itself.  Jesus got the Word from the Father, therefore everything that He spoke were not His own words but The Father's Word. Why? Because just like in the world you are FIRST judged good or bad, right or wrong, a shame or a delight based on the word of your father. ‬
Whether or not you have been obedient to our Father's words is what will determine if you get eternal rewards, or eternal punishments.

Now that we "know," (because we have read) where the Word (The Bible) comes from,  how it got to man And that it 'cannot' be changed, let us see  what we are supposed to do with this book or this Word (Bible).

Revelation 10: "And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire: And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth, And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices. And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not...
And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth. And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter. And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings." Revelation‬ ‭10‬:‭1-4, 8-11‬

We witness here an example of the "angel," giving the Book to John. Now understanding this fact, (having your eyes open) as you read your Bible, you will begin to notice that just about every time somebody receives the word from heaven it is from an angel.  Jesus Christ IS the Word, so, except for when He was here, His Word is always entrusted to the hands of angels.  (Luke 1:5-22, 26-33, Daniel 9:20-23/10:1-21, Acts 7:53/ 27:21-25, Judges 2:1-5)
Notice also what he did with the book, "ate it up!" As humans, we 'eat,' or consume books and words with our eyes. This is our example, this is why #onlinebiblebootcamp is important, because we should all be eating or ' consuming' the Word (The Bible).
Why?
For the same reason as John, so that you also can bear witness to the "truth!"
Now remember by the mouth of 2 or more witnesses is a fact established, so let's look at another example.

"And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day. For they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God. And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them...
And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious. But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee. And when I looked, behold, an hand was sent unto me; and, lo, a roll of a book was therein; And he spread it before me; and it was written within and without: and there was written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe." Ezekiel‬ ‭2‬:‭3-5, 7-10
Here God has commanded Ezekiel to speak to Israel, warning him that they won't listen. When he received the scroll (The Word), what did he do?
"Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel. So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll. And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness. And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.
Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears. And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord God; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear." ‭Ezekiel‬ 3‬:‭1-4, 10-11‬
So Ezekiel got the Word, consumed it and then he was able to go and preach the Gospel.

ENOUGH METAPHORS WE NEED PLAIN SPEECH!

Even the King should have a copy of the Book (The Word).
"When thou art come unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me;...
And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:" Deuteronomy‬ ‭17‬:‭14, 18‬
What do you suppose the king should do with his copy of the book?
Read of course!

Jesus has an example for us: "And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day and,  stood up for to read. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias.

And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears." ‭Luke‬ ‭4‬:‭14-21
Jesus could have quoted this scripture from the book of Isaiah, but He is giving us a message and showing us an example… We should read! In church, when preaching the Gospel We should be reading!

"Seek ye out of the book of the Lord, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them." Isaiah‬ ‭34‬:‭16‬
Go find you a book (Bible) and read it daily!
Why is this necessary? Because we must study in order to 'prove' God's will, and that you know it.

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭15‬
And
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" ‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬

And After you have studied, Paul wrote to Timothy to:
"Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry." 2 Timothy‬ ‭4‬:‭2-5‬

And finally: "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬

May the Lord add a blessing to the reading of His Word...
