THE RAPTURE?!?

1 OF 3

I have always thought it amazing how as Bible believing Christians we can be persuaded into believing in a doctrine, when the name given to the doctrine cannot be found in the Bible. One of these so called doctrines is the rapture. People have written books, movies, documentaries and have gained million$ in profits as a result of an unbiblical doctrine. Since the word is not in the Bible we cannot use the Bible to define it. Therefore we look to secular wisdom:

rap•ture (r p ch r)  n.

1. The state of being transported by a lofty emotion; ecstasy.

2. An expression of ecstatic feeling. Often used in the plural.

3. The transporting of a person from one place to another, especially to heaven.

The rapture is thought to be the plan of God for the people of God during the Great Tribulation. People would have you to believe that The Most High God needs to steal people off the earth in order to protect them during this time of trouble. This is not biblical. Moses and Jesus went into hiding in Egypt; In Moses day the Egyptians were killing all Israelite male-children, and Moses hid in Pharaoh’s house! The man who was to lead Israel to the promise land was hid in the most un-safe place for an Israelite boy. In the days of Jesus, Herod (a king set up by the Romans) was also killing Israelite boys. Being that Herod believed that Jesus threatened himself and the Romans, being labeled as “The King Of The Jews,” (Micah 5:2 Matthew 2:2-6/27:37 John 18:33-37) and the fact that Egypt was at that time a Roman province, this would seem to be not the best place to hide.
Fortunately Jesus was the same skin color as the Egyptians

so that He, Mary, and Joseph could easily blend in with the natives.

One of the common scriptures used to rapture people to heaven is: "Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this that if the Goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh" (ST. MATTHEW 24:40-44).

Unfortunately (for them) there is no mention of going to heaven in this whole chapter. Secondly the rapture is supposed to be to prevent the ‘saints’ from having to live thru the Great Tribulation. This also, is false teaching because the Great Tribulation starts in verse 15-21 “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house… For THEN shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.”

By verse 29 the Great Tribulation is coming to a close: “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken… and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other” (Matthew 24:29-31).

182 pre-trib lies exposed: An answer to "Maranatha or refried Rosenthal?" by Herb Evans and "Rasmussen's fables" by Charles Perkins

The rapture scripture doesn’t happen until verse 40. So according to the Bible (not the sermon) if there is a rapture it won’t happen until AFTER the Great Tribulation.

St. John 3:13 No one is going to heaven

St. John 7: 33-34 Where Jesus is (Heaven) you CANNOT go

St. John 14:1-3 When you see Jesus it will be when he comes again “I will come again”

Revelation 21:1-2 & 10 Even when we meet the Father in ‘New Jerusalem’ it will come DOWN from God, OUT OF HEAVEN!

May the Lord add a blessing to the study of His Word.
