and lowly, and riding on an ass (Matthew 21:1-5/John 12:12-16);
This isn't always the picture that is painted of Jesus Christ. It is however, a true and very Real side of the Messiah.
Let us not forget that this 'violent' side of Jesus is one of the reasons the people didn't believe He was the Messiah...
Contrary to what is taught (or what we are persuaded to believe) in most sermons, Jesus will return to this earth to rule with a rod of Iron; Not to pet us on the head, and beg us to do right. (Revelation 19:10-16)
The United States is a special place. A great place to be, the best place
to end up if you are among the scattered of the tribes of the children
of Israel. (Joel 3:6 / Jeremiah 50:17).
Although some might feel that America represents the ideal Christian
nation, should you continue to live in the United States of America
when Jesus returns to set His kingdom up on the earth, society will run noticeably different. (Revelation 20:1-6) This is beside the fact that the United States isn't at all mentioned in ANY of the end-time prophecies.
A Republic (the U.S is technically a Republic NOT a democracy) is:
A political order in which the supreme power lies in a body of citizens
who are entitled to vote for officers and representatives responsible
Likewise a Dictatorship is: a form of government in which absolute power is concentrated in a dictator or a small clique b: a government organization or group in which absolute power is so concentrated.
Now that we have the definitions out of the way let’s look to the Bible and see which definition more closely resembles the government of God.
Firstly the terms 'Kingdom' and 'Democracy' and/or 'Republic' are not synonymous, they are polar opposites. And God's Kingdom will never be destroyed; not be left to other people. That means he won’t be impeached, retire, or gracefully bow out.
“In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 3:1-2).
“Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod
the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen his
star in the east, and are come to worship him” (Matthew 2:1-3).
Even the wise men from the East (Magi) knew who Jesus was… “King of The Jews!” Notice they didn’t come looking for their personal savior. Jesus was 'born King,' that is the definition of a monarchy!

Not to mention the fact that more often than not the "Gospel" is described as the coming of the Kingdom Of God .
LET IT BE KNOWN: The Lord, whom we call Jesus; The Christ WILL Invade this earth and proceed to take it over.
“Behold, the day of the LORD cometh… I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations… and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee… the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.
And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.
"And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth… And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go
up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. And it shall be that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles” (Zechariah 14:1-19).
In verse 16-18 it mentions the feast of tabernacles.
