It is a common belief that the first temple was destroyed on the same date as the second temple over 650 years later. On this same anniversary The Temple Institute inaugurated the first leg of a truly revolutionary project whose purpose is the construction of a large stone altar. The people who live in Israel have gone thru great pains to construct this temple according to how Moses was instructed.
“Therefore it shall be when ye be gone over Jordan, that ye shall set up these stones, which I command you this day, in Mount Ebal, and thou shalt plaister them with plaister. And there shalt thou build an altar unto the LORD thy God, an altar of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them. Thou shalt build the altar of the LORD thy God of whole stones: and thou shalt offer burnt offerings thereon unto the LORD thy God” (Deuteronomy 27:1-6)
In mainstream Orthodox Judaism the rebuilding of the temple is generally left to the coming messiah, as well as Divine Providence. However there are presently a number of organizations which represent a majority of Orthodox Jews, that were formed with the objective of immediately and as soon as possible constructing a '3rd' temple.
The model of the altar has been constructed by Master Stone Mason, Assaf Kidron. Assaf is a resident of Samaria. According to the Institute Kidron gathered the stones in the area of Mount Ebal (not far from Samaria).
As Christians the happenings of the 3rd ‘temple of god’ should be of great significance to us. For it was Jesus the Messiah that warned us of this:
“When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be… Behold, I have told you before” (Matthew 24:13-25).
This is a time of Great urgency. We are instructed not to go back for our clothes or anything, but to flee. This is the beginning of the time known as the ‘Great Tribulation’. The abomination of desolation is also known as the Antichrist.
Where is the holy place?
“And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy. And thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy place” (Exodus 26:30-37).
Aaron (the first High Priest), and his descendants had to put on special clothes before going to do the work of the Lord. There was also a special cleansing ritual to be performed prior to entering into the presence of the Lord. There were bells fastened to his clothing so that he would not be killed for entering. Ropes were tied around his waist should he be killed for one reason or another he could be dragged out without another person having to enter to get him. The holy place is where the Levites ate the sacrifices of Israel. Therefore it is the most holy place that the abomination ‘ought not’ to be standing (Mark 13:14). The High Priest could only go into the most holy place once a year on the Day of Atonement.
In Revelation chapter 11, John is instructed to measure the temple of God. He is also told not to measure the court that is outside of the temple because it is given to the Gentiles to tread for 42 months (3.5yrs). This 3rd temple will be built in the court way of the previous temple (Ultimately, when the historic opportunity arises, the altar will be transported to its proper location on the Temple Mount). They will not be able to build the temple on the exact location of the previous temple because the Muslim ‘Dome of the Rock’ is now on the location of the previous temple.

And go to page two.
“And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate” (Daniel 11:31).
So what will the abomination of desolation do?
He will be placed (or set himself up) in the re-constructed temple and at that very moment the dreaded Great Tribulation will commence.
LET IT BE KNOWN: he will take away the daily sacrifice, so the altar WILL be built and used!
While it is true, our bodies are the temple of the lord, the prophecy of Eziekel still stands unfulfilled and there will therefore be another Physical temple built (Ezekiel chapter 40-47)!
The Altar was constructed on location. The altar can be seen by all visitors to the Temple Institute in Jerusalem. Further illustrations of how the first two temples were made can be seen @ http://www.templeinstitute.org/building-an-altar-9th-av-5769.htm

Prophecy is being fulfilled everyday right before our eyes…
“For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts” (Malachi 2:7)
May the Lord add a blessing to the study of His Word.
